Prof. Dganit Danino earned her B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. in chemical engineering at the Technion and in 2002, following post-doctoral work at NIH in the U.S., she returned to the Technion as a senior member of the Faculty of Biotechnology and Food Engineering. Prof. Danino is an expert in electron microscopy at low temperatures (CryoEM) engaged in both the development and education of CryoEM methodologies. Her research involves the development of drug delivery systems and unraveling of soft matter self-assembly mechanisms. She was the president of the Israel Society for Microscopy (ISM) between 2009 and 2013, and from 2017 she is Vice President of the European Colloid and Interface Society (ECIS), and Elected President for 2019-2021. She is a Section Editor in Current Opinion in Colloids and Interface Science from 2004 and Editor in Colloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces since 2013.
About ECIS. ECIS is a voluntary, non-profit organization of scientists. Its objective is to advance colloid and interface science and to promote cooperation between European scientists.
